CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

for participation in the
28th FESTIVAL OF ECOLOGICAL THEATER FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

“The Festival of Ecological Theater for Children and Youth” is open for applications for performances that will be part of our 28th Festival, which will take place from 18th to 22nd August in Bačka Palanka. Applications are open to all professional theater troupes that perform for children and youth.

This year our Festival is dealing with the MOVEMENT. The topic of movement is trying to remind us of the importance of acceptance of others and different people and cultures. Movement is a journey, change, understanding, and welcoming of those who seek refuge. Movement is not just OUR journey. It's the way our planet breathes in the midst of an ecological crisis and climate change. After two years of sitting in quarantine caused by the Covid crisis, it is time to move forward, to create a movement that will heal the world.

REQUIREMENTS:

Plays exclusively intended for children of pre-school and younger age;
Plays must be performed by professionals;
Every type of theatrical performance is eligible (puppet show, acting show, choreodramas, shadow theater, object theater, nonverbal performances, musicals...)

The following will have priority:

Performances in the form of movement (immersive theatre, site specific theatre, ambient theatre, experimental, land art, digital etc. )
Performances on the topic of movement (migrations, travel, climate change, recycling, eco refugees, food chain, circle of nature, ecology of the spirit, zero waste theatre...)

All entries must be submitted no later than 31st December 2021!

Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the stated deadline will not be considered. All applicants will be informed about the submission approval, no longer than 15 days after the deadline. You will be automatically notified about your application status by Google form. Supporting documentation/material will not be returned but will be kept in the Festival’s archives, used only for the selection and promotion of the Festival’s program (program book, posters, website, social networks, and promo video). SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process begins with an analysis of the received applications. The Artistic Committee of the Festival will review the submissions and publish a list of performances that will take part in the competing program of the 28th Festival of Ecological Theater for Children and Youth.

The main criteria for initial selection are the artistic quality, answering the Festivals topic, as well as technical requirements.

All parties will be informed by email about the preliminary results of the selection no later than 15th January 2022, and the final results will be announced on the Festival’s website (www.fep.org.rs) no later than 1st July 2022.

“THE GOOD TREE” AWARD

Award for the best play in entirety by decision of the professional jury
Award for the play most suitable for children by decision of the children’s jury
Award for the best play according to audience’s votes
Individual awards by decision of the professional jury (special award, acting awards, visual identity award, etc.)
Award given by the Festival’s Council and Artistic Committee for exceptional contribution to artistry for children and youth
